> Alcochol and tobacco can be murder for your organs
This show has some funny dialogues.

More storytelling about the self proclaimed Demon King and their origins. Shalk proves himself to be a dangerous duelist. I expected more from Kazuki but that was over in a flash. Idk if this show has enough time to explore more of Shalk but he's a fascinating character.

Another banger episode that went by in a blink, almost as fast as that Shalk and Kazuki fight at the end lmao.

I am really curious about Yukiharu and Asnes' abilities. At first I thought Yukiharu was gonna be a journalist, but surely he's more than that since he's got a second name ans carrying that thing on his back, right?

BONEY BOY IS BACK! I forgot about some of the characters from season 1's abilities, including Shalk so this episode was a nice re-introduction to him. I really need to know his lore. Was he the hero that beat the demon lord and after beating him he lost his memories? Seems too obvious, surely there's gotta be a curveball.

My headcanon is Kazuki was an idol before getting isekai'd and that's why she's always singing. The way she effortlessly took out some of Okahu's finest holy shit. She was such a dope character. Sucks she had to get packed up so soon, but she had got a little cocky clearly. Skeletor had to bring her back down to earth lol.

Everytime I see grey haired boy I just hear Ikari Shinji.. they're keeping his identity under wraps, who tf is this guy! I wanna know. Also, he brought up some cool lore about the "visitors" aka isekai'd people all coming from Japan lately, what changed? Lot of mystery in this series it keeps me locked in. Another great ep.

You know, at least last season by this time around wee already had established all the characters and they were starting to run into each other and starting to kill each other off... here, we're somehow STILL introducing characters...

I mean, I guess you could say that skeleton dude from last season showing up at the end and killing miss singer, but c'mon man, give me something...

@IzanaSolos that's because it adapts both vol 2 and 3. vol2 had a conflict with a Particle Storm(ep 4,5).

At first I was like "oh this is gonna be a big infodump episode", and then I'm like "oh, I'm totally not expecting this kind of result"

But before I begin talking about this part, I gotta praise how this anime actually pay attention to a very little detail. At the introduction of Okahu city, we can see a group of CG of townspeople walking, but one area show the event where a child tease the city guard, then the city guard scare the child, the child run away to hide behind the parent.

Now, back to this skeleton guy, what I like is not about how he's very overpowered, but how he actually think like he's a main character. It goes like this, he doesn't have his memory since he became a skeleton, but he suspect he might be a hero, so he tries to confirm his assumption, but even though the timeline doesn't contradict him to be a hero, there's no concrete evidence so far that can confirm it's really him.

The main highlight of this episode, is of course his power, but it also make me appreciate Soujiro even more since he can fight the skeleton guy and survive.

The reporter guy also interesting, I assume his power allow him to do investigation and news report and media stuffs but doesn't allow him to fight. I'll likely find the answer in this season anyway so there's no need for someone to answer this for me.

The name replacement part was the one I was looking forward to the most, because of how hype it was, wasn't disappointed. "Ore wa dareda" was epic at the end. The ridicilous part is that Kazuki can even see bullet's trajectory, but couldn't see Shalk move, he was this fast!
Was kinda disappointed in the fight with the mercenaries. it was sped up and every mercenary died quickly, sure they died in the novel quickly too, but it felt like the fight was longer and more fleshed out, with more time spent on the mercenaries.
The singing was quite annoying, I hoped they'd do it better in the adaptation.

About Kazuki and gray-haired child convo. They missed the part where Kazuki ask why visitors don't age and gray-haired child answering with "Hard to say, but it might be to make us leave an impact here".
Then there was missed information about visitors being not only minias. How dragons came from a large reptile visitor, and oozes, mandrakes coming from some kind of visitor species as well. At least they included visitors being japanese.
I'm glad they at least mentioned champions like Dakai, Regnejee, Vikeon dying... and the warning to Kazuki that champions are being taken out.

Also there was a joke that Shalk made about tobacco and alcohol, how it's bad to consume them if you want to live long. It's funny him saying that, cause he is a skeleton.

Some things that I did like, is that anime explained that Okafu is a mercenary city, founded by Morio the Sentinel, a visitor and that it has a large military, which can threaten Auretia. One thing they didn't mention, which I think is important, is that Okafu is a place for all races, as long as you are skilled, it doesn't matter who you are, that's why skeletons, ogres can freely roam the streets, unlike Auretia which is minia-centered.

This is a very important episode, a very exciting episode AND a very cool episode, all at the same time!
We finally got some clear information about Visitors.
We already knew that they come from the "Distant World", which is getting more and more certain that it is
It's also revealed that Visitors don't age and that the most recent ones are from the same country. This fact makes me think that they probably don't come to this world by choice.
Kazuki was a great character even with how little screen time see had.
Her Voice Actress has a very good voice, so it was a cool idea to cut the music during the fight and let her voice carry the scene!
I would have loved to be able to see her in more fights, but...
The other cool idea in this episode is obviously the title change. It has been established so far that all the characters are introduced first and then they fight.
Shalk literally took Kazuki's place in both the tournament and the show as a whole! It's so cool! Sonuvabitch.

@gorkthe134th wasn't it explained in the first season, that visitors are drifting when they become too powerful for their own world?

@Hirugiku I found the equivalent part of the anime. In episode 1 at around 17:20 they talk about the M1 but they skip the part about Visitors.
Honestly, I think I prefer that it's more of a mystery in the anime how Visitor get to this world.

Ah, my favorite deadhead… Shalk my boney boy, I never woulda thought he’d take the spotlight away from Kazuki in her own episode, that was so damn cool how Shalk not only cut her down, but her name as well, and then replaced it with his own, that really enhanced the scene. And looking back on it, Kazuki’s defeat was foreshadowed twice, the first time was when Shalk avoided the arrow with it going through the gaps in his bones, to me this showed that most likely even if Kazuki got a shot off, it may have done the same thing and missed Shalk completely. The second time was when the Gray Haired Child mentioned visitors have been dying before he parted ways with Kazuki, this raised her death flag incredibly high.

And you know what, as cool as Kazuki was with her design and power to change bullet trajectory, I’m not upset she died in the very episode she was introduced lol, I thought her singing mid battle was kinda cringe and was patiently waiting for Shalk to do something, because I knew none of the mercenaries were doing shit lol, RIP to them all tho, died trying to protect their free city. Maybe if it wasn’t for the signing I would be upset she already died, or maybe if she sang something like “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey then I would have been more into it lol, but because of that I don’t mind her being ended like this, I did think she was fun otherwise tho.

And some interesting stuff was revealed with Shalk in the process of his swift win, so he might be the hero huh? I doubt it’s that simple but this puts him more in the main character seat than most in this series, I’m very interested in finding out who he was now, but for now he’s a badass spooky boy and that’s honestly all he needs to be cool.

Love how Shalk fought, also liked how Kazuki is singing while fighting though her abilities seem a tad mundane to the Shuras introduced, even from S1 I would think Regnejee "Wyvern-Wave-Tactics" the Wings of Sunset and Higuare the Pelagic can beat her.

Finally properly introduce Kazuki then kill her off same episode, damn and she was cool too. I wonder what the reason for 'visitors' not aging is if it's a cellular incompatibility with the world or different time flow or what.

Side note Kazuki's dog tags had her blood type B .

I couldnt blame anyone for having trouble following it with so many characters and groups and different regions to remember and the subs have their own region names versus what is spoken for some making it even more difficult to remember plus all these double names for characters you have to remember.

gray-haired child assumed that it was to leave an impact on the world, sad they didn't include it in the anime. The first royal family lived far longer than normal, hinting they were also visitors.

I'm actually surprised no one mentioned that Kazuki was called as Kazuki Miyamura, her japanese last name and not as Kazuki Black Tone by gray-haired child

By reason I meant more mechanism than purpose but interesting there is a purpose. A bit odd to think about considering this world already has so many powerful beings in it and not all are bad so outsiders dont seem as vital as they could be which is more interesting though.

Maybe not mentioned since it is difficult to interpret if it means he knew her from their own world or if he merely knows her name since being from same world they use just their normal names among each other.

By far one of, if not the, highlight of the season for me. From the ending we already knew this duel between Shalk and Kazuki would happen, and although you could say a couple of factors spoiled the ultimate result, more specifically the exact poster the site uses to show the cast of the season, and the fact they gave the whole “she is a hero fighting for x reason or x way” that usually comes at the characters title card in the middle of the episode, the excellent scene that marks the transition from this being an episode about her to being about him makes me forgive it all, for I liked his character from the beginning and was left eager and curious to see what part he would play in the narrative when he basically dropped out from the possibility of being in the tournament last season. Talking about narrative though, I’m madly curious to knowing what Hiroto and the reporter will be doing in the future, the former’s function as the Old Kingdom’s aide seems to have been flushed, although the ending still shows he will be an influential figure of some sort, probably as a revolutionary, and the latter is guiding us through a new mystery, what is in the Final Land, although I guess this is not the point, and who massacred the village. We also have the acknowledgment that is kinda weird all these visitors come from Japan specifically, very nice detail.

I'm not blaming anyone for getting confused; Ishura is a dense story and even as a light novel reader I get confused.

Confused or not, though, it's blatantly obvious there is a grander story going on across the series. Being confused on the story, I get; thinking there just isn't a story clearly is not possible unless you are flat out not paying even the slightest but of attention, or rage baiting.

>Introduce an interesting and badass character.
>Kill her in the same episode.

I give Ishura credit for managing to make so many epic character introductions in a vast and exciting world, but my major problem is that the author underutilizes those characters; it feels like they are just killing them for shock value or to serve as foil for other characters. The fact this episode came after the last few episodes, who had shown the characters getting focus after their initial introduction, feels frustrating. I just hope the grand tournament that was set from the start will make up for this, and hopefully it will come soon before other favs of mine die.

And btw, although I do complain a lot, I didn't find this episode all bad because of Kazuki's death; her time on the screen was entertaining, and the background plot progression is interesting. Shalk is a cool character, and it was nice to see him come back. It just could've done better.

Is... Is this show ever going to have a plot? So far all they've done with two seasons is introduce so many characters that I can't even remember half of them. And some of them literally die in the same episode they were introduced so what is even the point of spending an episode on them?

As far as I understand it, the prototype of Kazuki the Black Tone is a gunslinger who made a deal with the devil. It's about Der Freischütz by Carl Maria von Weber. And yes, the middle name of this German gentleman is Maria. It's a rather popular romantic opera from the early 19th century. The main character of this opera is given seven bullets by the devil to hit any target he chooses, but there's a twist. The seventh bullet goes wherever the devil tells it to go. Japan has been very much influenced by German culture. There was a similar character in "Hellsing". She also manipulated a bullet. Only the vampire had one bullet. I suppose the vague Japanese mind of the author once listened to an opera, and since they sing during the act, the character sings during the act(ion). In "Hellsing", Rip Van Winkle is pretty much like the original. However, the Japanese authors always made the shooter a woman. In the original, the characters are Max, well, or Kaspar, generally men.

I realized now that this "infinite" character introduction just seems to be annoying because sadly Ishura is not a classic 52 episode season like in old times.

The number of characters is not that big, the plot is interesting, crazy fights and lots of stuff is happening, the only problem is the season is too short to keep the hype.

Yukiharu getting stopped on the way to Arimo Village, where the inevitable massacre had just happened and Aureatia's Nofelt the Sombre Wind having to deal with the postmortem of the climax. Him meeting mercenaries from the Free City of Okahu along the way from the Final Land, it's clear that he needs to escape his situation fast, and thanks to his companion, he managed to, and walks on the way to the Final Land.

It's been a while since we last saw Shalk back in Season 1, though the mercenary being in the proclaimed Free City of Okahu in anticipation of Kazuki Mizumura the Black Tone killing scores of people, he's now caught up again in a fighter's battle at the Great Bridge. Furthermore, the Gray-Haired Child being with her to give her a word of warning since there's someone out there killing Champions, Morio the Sentinel would be the fastest way to get intel as visitors belonging to the Distant World. To have the power of song aiding Kazuki, she's a real menace, but Shalk taking her on to revoke her rights to the Royal Games, as well as confirming the Hero's body,

So, Yukiharu is like a journalist, seeking the truth about the Demon Lord’s whereabouts—whether he’s truly dead or not.

I’d say Shalk is an underdog. I didn’t think much of him in the previous season, but after this episode, it feels like he could either be the hero or the Demon King himself.
